Follicular Unit Extraction (FUE)
With this technique single follicular units are extracted. The manual FUE method extracts small punches of 0,8 to 0,95 mm diameter. In this case it is very important to avoid any damage of the hair follicle to create a maximum of possibility of hair growth on the forehead. The Artas® robotic assisted hair restoration surgery represents a further development of the manual FUE technique. The biggest advantage of the FUE method is the fact that there are no visible scars as with the FUT technique. Mostly with FUE technique only little spots might be visible right after the procedure.
The FUE method developed originally with the desire to transplant more grafts per procedure with less scarring. The possibility of scarring is reduced to a minimum by the use of a smallest sized punch.
