How it works

Targeted support for the follicles you still have

Androgenetic hair loss is the most common form of hair loss. Follicles in certain areas react sensitively to hormonal influences. Over the years the growth phases shorten, hair becomes finer and density visibly drops.

The hairline, the temples and the crown are usually affected first. The key point: in early to moderate stages the follicles are often still present but miniaturised, with reduced activity. That is exactly where Regenera Activa comes in.

The treatment is autologous. It uses your own tissue. Very small samples from a stable area of the scalp are processed in a closed system into a cell-bearing suspension, which is then delivered into the affected areas. Only your body’s own components are used, with no foreign enzymes or additives.

The aim is to bring regenerative signals and supportive components into the target tissue, so that the scalp environment and follicle activity are supported. Because the material is autologous, there is no risk of rejection or allergic reaction.

An important distinction: Regenera Activa does not replace a hair transplant in completely bald areas. The greatest benefit is expected where follicle activity remains. Once an area is permanently bald, a transplant is the appropriate procedure.

Indication

Who is the treatment suitable for?

A clean medical assessment beforehand is decisive. We establish whether the pattern fits androgenetic alopecia, and whether enough follicle activity remains in the target areas.

Makes sense for
  • androgenetic hair loss in early to moderate stages
  • slowly progressing thinning with follicle activity still present
  • a preference for a biological approach using your own tissue
  • use alongside a medical maintenance plan
  • stabilising support before or after a hair transplant
Not suitable for
  • completely bald areas with no active follicles
  • active inflammation or infection of the scalp
  • significantly impaired wound healing
  • certain blood or clotting disorders
  • untreated underlying conditions driving the hair loss

We also discuss which contributing factors might affect the outcome, iron deficiency, thyroid levels or scalp inflammation, for instance. Regenerative therapy works best when the main underlying causes are treated or ruled out in parallel.

Procedure

One appointment, five steps

  1. History and hair analysisWe discuss and classify the progression, the pattern and any possible triggers.
  2. Local anaestheticThe donor area is anaesthetised locally.
  3. Taking small tissue samplesMinimally invasive extraction from a stable area. The sites usually heal quickly and stay hidden.
  4. Processing in the systemThe cell-bearing suspension is produced in a closed, patented process.
  5. Delivery into the target areasMicroinjections into the affected regions of the scalp.

The whole thing usually takes about 30 to 45 minutes. Extraction and delivery happen in the same appointment, so the material never needs storing in between.

One session is often enough. Whether and when a repeat makes sense depends on your individual progression and the overall plan. One to two treatments a year is typical.

Results

What you can realistically expect

Downtime

Little to none. Brief redness, tenderness or small bruises are possible.

First signs

Usually reduced shedding first, over the course of several weeks.

Reliable assessment

Weeks to months, in line with the hair cycle.

Treatment goal

Stabilisation and better hair quality in areas that are still active.

Because hair grows slowly, changes appear gradually over weeks to months. The goal is stabilisation and improved hair quality in areas where the follicles are still active.

Local redness, swelling, bruising and short-term tenderness at the donor and injection sites are all possible. Rarer risks are explained in your personal consultation.

Combinations

Within the wider plan

Regenera Activa is often built into a maintenance plan. It can be combined with PRP or mesotherapy, and supplemented with topical or medical components.

Where the findings are advanced, a hair transplant is the procedure of choice, with Regenera Activa used alongside it to stabilise the hair you still have. We make that call before treatment, never after.

Frequently asked

Regenera Activa: your questions

How does Regenera Activa differ from PRP?

With PRP, a concentrate is drawn from your blood and works mainly through growth factors from the platelets. With Regenera Activa, small tissue samples are taken from the scalp and processed into a cell-bearing suspension, so the approach goes beyond plasma components alone. Both are autologous and can be combined.

Is one session really enough?

In many cases, yes. One to two treatments a year is typical. Whether a repeat makes sense depends on how things develop: after a few months we assess how shedding, density and quality have changed, and plan from there.

Will the donor site leave scars?

Extraction is minimally invasive, using very small punches in a stable, hair-bearing area, usually at the back of the head. The sites normally heal quickly and are covered by the surrounding hair. Visible scarring is not expected.

Is the treatment painful?

The donor area is locally anaesthetised, so the extraction itself is not painful. The microinjections that follow are usually described as well tolerated. Once the anaesthetic wears off, the donor site can be tender for a short while.

When can I exercise again?

Downtime is minimal. We recommend avoiding intense exercise, saunas and heavy sweating for a day or two, so the donor and injection sites can settle.

Can Regenera Activa avoid the need for a hair transplant?

That depends on your findings. In early to moderate stages with follicle activity still present, stabilisation can be achieved that delays a transplant. In completely bald areas no regenerative method can create new follicles, and a transplant remains the only route to new hair. We will tell you honestly which group your case falls into.
